Malindi Town
Malindi town is at the mouth of the Galana river, lying on the Indian Ocean of Kenya. It is 120 kilometers northeast of Mombasa. The town is well known for its tourism and fishing activities bearing in mind the presence of the Malindi marine park managed by the KWS. It is the largest urban center in Kilifi county with one of the famous beach.
Malindi Marine park
Malindi marine park is a Kws park, with magnificent resources such as fringing reefs, coral, sea grass, mangroves, mudflats, high fish diversity, marine mammals, turtles and shorebirds. During the visit, tourists are allowed to participate in various activities e.g. snorkeling inside the park. The park charges are all paid to the KWS pay bill number. The boats used to visit the park are managed by the marine boat association thus an extra fee is paid to the association which ranges from ksh4000-ksh7000 per boat depending on the boat capacity.
