All that has a beginning has an end but what a caterpillar calls the end a butterfly calls it the beginning. The last day means the end of the trip but on this particular trip, it meant the beginning of new memories and friendships for me. Breakfast, shower, unpitched tents and off we set for takawiri island on a water bus. Takawiri island is one of the 19 islands on Lake Victoria; the lake water here is fresh and clear; you can swim in it with your eyes open underwater. For the bird watchers, this is the spot with birds such as Egyptian geese and the long-tailed cormorants which we spotted closely in the lake.
If you need accommodation or refreshments while swimming near this island visit the famous takawiri island resort. Getting there; a boat/water bus/ferry from rusinga island lunch was served at the camping site, celebrates June babies with a sweet creamy cake and off we left for Nairobi Shout outs to rusinga island lodge and takawiri island resort management , and to team fossils.
